31 Days #20: How Do I Organize My Albums?

by Lain Ehmann on July 20, 2012

Rounding out three weeks of Q&As! Yahoo!

I think you’ll be able to empathize with Jen D’s struggles when she says:

What are the ways to organize scrapbook albums?

I share my thoughts in today’s video, but I’m sure you have some suggestions, too! Share them in the comments section and we’ll discuss chronological scrapbooking versus chronological albums…

Links and Resources in Today’s Video (some may be affiliate links):

Stacy Julian’s Library of Memories (the class at Big Picture is closed, but here’s the info in case your anted to check it out and watch the video.)

Stacy’s Photo Freedom book on Amazon (if you find this locally, BUY IT.)

Just wanted to jump in and add that Stacy Julian will be offering her class Finding Photo Freedom (where she teaches her Library of Memories system) again beginning in February 2013 at BigPictureClasses.com. The Library of Memories Community (that you’ve linked to here) can be joined at any time & is a community for people who have read Stacy’s book or taken the class or want to get a jump start on setting up their system before the next class. Currently it shows an ending date of August 30, 2012, but that will simply renew for another year once we reach the end of August – the $15 fee is for lifetime membership & is only paid once.

And, Stacy is currently working on an e-book version of Photo Freedom – there’s not a definite date yet when it will be available, but it will definitely be much more reasonably priced than the print copies being sold online.(I am a coach in Stacy’s Finding Photo Freedom workshop & currently monitor the LOM Community, so just thought I’d share this little extra about that resource.)

I love the freedom of just letting go and scrapbooking whatever pictures, product, memory ect grabs you. I have Project Life for getting my photos/events/memories in order chronologically but my scrapbook album is all over the place and I am perfectly OK with that because it has allowed me to scrapbook with ease and not having to worry about where it will go and if it will fit in.

I’ve also run out of room…. I do need to go thru the completed pages and just sort them into a general order of preference. But I find nice big baskets or tubs hold my pages (in page protectors) and easier to flip thru for me. Not easier for others to take and view… originally I planned to do that for a few months then sort, but it’s been over a year…
