    That is exactly how I scrapbook and I manage to get quite a lot done that way.   Needless to say, it seems as if I do more laundry than actually gets done since each time I run to the laundry area, I stop off in my scrap area to crop photos or layout a page or stick something down or journal.  I have only been able to do this since I now have my own scrap corner and my children are old enough not to mess it up too much.

    Hi Lain.. I am getting a lot out of these videos so far! I have the blessing of having a room for scrapbooking, and everything I need. When I am in the pages working I love it! The problem I have is that I walk in fully motivated to create, have an hour or two to spend even, but get confused over where to start! My question is
    this: how to you decide what to work on and how to focus and get something completed? I can spend my whole time just deciding what to do.

    Great ideas! I agree with Linda’s post, how do you focus? I get too sidetracked online reading different message boards, hopping to different blogs, etc.

    Some great ideas.  I am not a scrapbooker but I am an illustrator and I found that blocking out 2 hours twice a week and explaining to my family that this time was important to me, that they respected it right from the beginning.  Now if i don’t follow my schedule, my family tells me to get to it :)

    Enjoyed this video!  I spent 3 yrs scrapbooking for others as a business and barely touched my own kids’ photos.  Had a HUGE scare last week when my computer crashed with all my photos!  Luckily, Geek squad was able to save most of them however not all.  I’m newly motivated to focus on my scrapbooking and make time!   Oh, and the first thing I did was backup everything.  It was only $6.95 with CopyMyPC4Me.com  and that was MUCH better than the $450 I paid to Geek Squad!  Will be following you :)

    Kat, I just bought a PictureKeeper — it’s a USB “plug” that automatically locates and backups your photos on your computer. You can check it out here: http://lainloves.com/picturekeeper. It’s pretty inexpensive, and I bought one that will hold 16K photos! I’ll be doing a full review soon. :)

    Having a door helps me a lot! ;) My kids still like to come “hang out” with me, but I’ve set up a space for them to play. That helps, too!

    Great tips. I work about 50 hours a week and come home feeling spent. Doing some of these here and there will help. My DH is pretty supportive so I usually get a Sunday afternoon here and there to just sit down and scrap for a few hours.

    Hi Lain,

    Ive been watching your videos and I Love them!

    My question is this:

    I have a lot of patterned papers. By a lot, I mean A LOT! So now I have a problem, how do I mix and match them or even use them for scrapbooking or
    cardmaking. Sometimes, I would go for a patterned
    paper but then, I find myself losing time in
    searching for papers to match. I’d really really love to learn how to use them properly instead of having them sitting in my scrap room.

    Love love love this series and this question is so relevant. Time is always problem! So having made time leads me to another question….How do you get out of a scrapbooking funk? I haven’t scrapped for a while and am now scared to start again. There are so many beautiful pages to get inspired by but I get overwhelmed and end putting it off until ‘tomorrow’

    I actually TOOK the door OFF my scraproom…ha! It helps me to run in and out of it all day. There is something to be said for having just 15 minutes to scrap. Those little chunks of time add up- and truly, like you said- if you wait for the perfect day- none of us would every scrap. LOVE these Q&A’s…
