31 Days #8: To Blog or Not to Blog?

by Lain Ehmann on July 8, 2012

We’re a week in to our 31 Days of Scrapbooking Q&As, and the questions are still coming in! It’s not too late!

Today’s question is one I’ve gotten over and over in several versions:

Should I start a blog?

How do I start a blog?

How do I get people to visit my blog?

I answer all these questions in today’s video (which was filmed on location at Lalecheur Park in Lowell, MA!)

OMG Loved your on location video!

Oh wow! Lowell, MA! Now that brings back memories of a lobster picnic I had there when I was stationed at Ft. Devens. Wish I had a photo of that event so I could scrapbook it.

I am a secret blogger. It’s out there for people to stumble upon, but I have not promoted it in any way because I am so hit and miss about my entries. Will you be addressing that during the webinar?

Here’s my question for you: while I understand that perfection is not what we should require of our layouts, I do have an old layout from the first LOAD that literally calls to me from it’s album on the shelf because it is so poorly designed. Do I answer the call and fix (or redo) it or do I chalk it up to experience and tell it to leave me alone?

I’m not sure that you actually answered any of the above questions per se, especially in a timeframe of less than a minute and a half…this was really more of a commercial for your Scrapinar. However, I’m definitely signed up and hope you answer all those questions in more depth. Looking forward to listening in.

Well, since the scrapinar is free I don’t think it’s really a commercial.

With all due respect, Knitter Pam, I have to say that I am betting that Lain realized that the topic of blogging couldn’t be covered in a 90 second video and instead is offering people a FREE and longer more detailed explanation – not to mention direct access to her, rather than her in a video. I think it’s amazing, frankly that she was so determined to not miss a day that she even took time from her kid’s ball field (stadium?!!) to make sure to put the info out there.

    So…thanks, Lain!

OH! Also, Knitter Pam, here is a link on how to create a blog in 4 minutes or less – it’s pretty cool and fast and easy: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wPwQvnar99w

Thanks for the video, Katie! Funny that it was an 8-minute video. LOL! (snigger snigger).
    Love that Pat Flynn.

Thanks – gonna check it out. My commentcame out sounding petulant. Of COURSE the questions will be answered in the webinar, why did I expect it from an on-the-fly video? I just wanted it NOW. :) I am excited to watch the webinar, and I think the amount of info Lain provides here is amazing, considering how many balls she is juggling! How do you do it, Lain?
