This is really helpful because I’m definitely eyeing a Silhouette machine!!

Check out the portrait – lower cost but all the functionality of the Cameo, except not 12×12!

  • Robbin

Lain, since I’ve never used a die cut machine, I don’t understand why 12 x 12 is helpful. What would I want to cut that would be that big? Am I just being dumb? I always make 12 x 12 pages. Thanks for your help!

  • LainEhmann

Hey Robbin! It all depends on the projects you’re creating. If you do banners, or vinyl letters, or fabric cuttings, you might want the 12×12. Also, it makes it easy to use the 12×12 papers as-is without having to trim them down first.

Hmmm… Good point, Lain. I hadn’t thought about the “trimming down” part. I scrap 12×12, but figured I’m not going to make anything that big on my layouts. And I keep telling myself to “downsize” and start making 8×8 albums (they fit on my book shelves better) ;-) But still I do 12×12 ;-) I’m reeeeeeeally wanting to get a Portrait.
