These three may fight like cats and dogs when they’re in the backseat of the car, but when it comes right down to it, they really do enjoy each other.
This picture was taken on the shore of Lake Otsego in Cooperstown, NY. We were in town for Ben’s baseball tournament. Ben was staying with his team, so this was one of the few days that we could take him away from “the barracks” and spend time with him.
After lunch on the waterfront, the kids decided to try to feed the ducks. Callie had gathered all sorts of bread from lunch, but when she ran out, she figured that carrots would be a good thing to feed her feathered friends. Unfortunately, that didn’t work out too well!
It didn’t matter too much, though, as we were just enjoying hanging out at the water’s edge. The kids were laughing, I was walking with Nana, and the men were doing… something.
It was one of those ordinary life moments that you always think you’ll remember. But there wasn’t anything special about it — just a family of three kids, two parents, an uncle, and two grandparents, hanging out.
You think you’ll remember. But you don’t. Unless you write it down.
