OK, I can’t do it for today–it’s Star Wars day, so I have to use some of my SW PP. But maybe tomorrow…

I’m not sure I can do a layout without patterned paper. LOL

Great challenge … can’t wait to get home tonight to create my layout. Should be an easy one since I won’t have to think about picking out a patterened paper to match my photos.

  • lynne moore

I actually think about this. I use green and brown alot for backgrounds. So if I had to choose – kraft would be my option…

I almost always start with a solid sheet and use PP as accent. More often float my pix free from a mat (but that may be because I don’t want to stop to make them…)And I don’t match my photos firt. I seem to be a product insired scrapper latey. Somewhere there are pix to match whatever I make.

And size doesn’t matter, but I am happy with 12×12 mostoften. Love the different sizes in the single album.

  • http://betty-simplyscrapping.blogspot.com/ Betty

WOOHOO this one is totally me :)

  • Jenny McGee

Interesting challenge. I am a pattern paper girl. I use cardstock mainly as a base, but add pp and some type of embellishment. I am up for the challenge.

  • Claire

Do die-cuts or hand cut shapes from cardstock count as embellishments?

  • http://www.pinkpersimmon.com Darcy

I used to scrapbook everything like this! Super plain and simple. I have been trying to expand my techniques and try new things. This will be like going back to my roots! ha!

  • Lynnette

Ooohh this is right up my alley! I LOVE my cardstock!!!! I typically mat at least a few if not all of my phots and I love how a cardstock base can change the mood/intensity/feeling of the photos on the page and I also love how a simple cardstock mat can make a picture just pop off the page and not get lost in the patterned paper. Another one of my favorites is using tone on tone colors… I’ll be thinking about this LO all day!

  • Molly

I’m not even going to try this challenge. I love, love, love patterned paper too much!! I’ll use cardstock as a base but that’s it. Give me “p” for patterned papers please!!

  • Dolores Van Ryn

Would brushes be an acceptable substitute for stamps in a digital layout for today challenge?

  • http://myworldasithappens.blogspot.com/ TraycBzz

Yesterday I did just cardstock, one photo, chipboard letters, and some tea bag tags (memorabilia stuff). Plain and simple.

  • http://www.jodiemcnally.com jodie

so me. i’m all day with this one, dude. :) it’s like you did it just for me…LMAO!!!

  • Kathy28

hmm. Interesting. I was definitely more into card stock when I was a paper scrapper. Not more than one pattern per page. Now that I’m doing more digital, I take more chances with the patterns. Maybe it is because of the undo button! Let’s give this a shot!

  • Anonymous

That is interesting! The idea of that “Undo” button came up in my interview with Anna Aspnes for February’s Layout a Day. It makes a big difference!

  • Cassie Beeze

Ok I thought this might be easy for me.  I have something plain with the exception it had lines on it (so I hope its the same as plain just as lines would be on a notepad so to speak)  I also realised that in the beginning most of my pages actually feature plain cardstock as I wanted the photos to stand out and present them compared to embellishing them.  Now I am the opposite!  LOL.
As for trying to answer your above questions the only one that was a definate thing I do is match photos for the Page.  I know it would be hard for me to answer the rest as I am one who likes to try something different!  LOL I wish the hands on came with an undo button !!
