December Daily?

by Lain Ehmann on November 30, 2010

I am thrilled to have finished my December Daily album, and not a minute too soon!

I have actually never taken part in the December Daily project — last year, we moved the week before Christmas (don’t ask!). The year before, things were crazy as we were getting READY to move cross-country (yeah, we move a lot!). But this year, I’m determined to take part.

I created a 9×9″ album from Christmas scrapbook supplies, chipboard, and binder rings. I added a few page protectors cut to half-size, a couple of envelopes, and a few pocket pages I created with my sewing machine (!!).

I am not pre-labeling the days; I am not sure which days I’ll feel like adding photos or memorabilia, and I want to keep it flexible. This way I can move things around however I like. (I may not even create a page every day – don’t tell anyone!). I want this to be personal, stress-free, and fun.

Some things I’ll be including:

  • photos
  • receipts
  • scripture
  • wrapping paper
  • sketches/doodles
  • print-outs of emails received and sent
  • pictures my kids draw me
  • my letter to Santa (you DO write one, don’t you?)

If you’d like to join in, I’ll be posting a daily prompt on my Layout a Day Facebook page. Just check it out to see what I’m writing about or taking photos of. Don’t feel any pressure to keep up or do anything other than what you’re already doing. I think you’re perfect. :)

P.S. Even if you’re not going to do the December Daily project, pop over and “like” the Layout A Day Facebook fan page! It’ll be fun – I promise. ;)

Hey, I totally get that moving thing. I will be playing catch-up. My stuff is do to be delivered on FRIDAY!!!! 5 months later – I will have all my scrapping goodies and have even found a small nook to make my own. When I can get the scrappin’ groove going again, that’s when I feel settled.
