Working at home can be a lonely business. That’s why I’ve broken down and gotten a pet to keep me company. The best part? He matches my office exactly! Want to see my new little cutie?
Isn’t he adorable? His name is Po, and he’s a Cube Dog. I designed him myself using a totally simple FREE app on my iPhone. You can choose color, style, name, etc. And like any good iPhone app, there are upgrade packages available for additional parts, etc. I also love the groovy music that accompanies him.
I know, I know, it’s yet another time-suck… but it is so much fun.
He can do tricks — and not ordinary puppy tricks! He can hit a beachball, call you on the phone, and sleep on command. And of course he’s house-trained. And when I get tired of playing fetch, I can put him to sleep with the touch of a finger (wish it were that easy with my kids!).
Speaking of my kids, they are in love with Po, so much so that they’re hard at work creating their own Cube Dogs!
Here’s Callie posing with Po:
With the ability to take pictures with him — and of him! — we’ve already got plans for a Cube Dog scrapbook. Of course. We’re looking forward to taking him on all our summer adventures this year. Added benefit: Don’t have to worry about finding a canine-friendly hotel. Po’s welcome everywhere!
If you’d like to find out more about what you can do with Cube Dog, check out the app in the iTunes store and watch this video:
And then head over to the Facebook page for a fun contest running June 13-17! Maybe you’ll see Po and me there. Right now? We’re off to play fetch.
P.S. The Cube Dog app works with:
- iPhone 3GS
- iPhone 4
- iPod Touch 3rd generation
- iPod Touch 4th generation
AND, they all require iOS 4.0 or higher
