Meet Shimelle Laine, Scrapbooking Sweetheart!
We have a few more introductions to do for the True Scrap event in October (you ARE registered, aren’t you?). Here’s one of our returning instructors who is so cute, so talented, so incredible, it’s a good thing she lives in the UK or I’d be camped out on her doorstep!
Meet Shimelle Laine!
What is the last scrapbooking product you purchased?
Label stickers (always running out), foam squares (gotta love a bit of dimension) and some brand new patterned paper (new paper always makes my heart beat faster).
Why did you choose creating album flow as the class subject for Spawn of True Scrap?
Getting my albums organised in a way that makes them an enjoyable read that also tells my life story has completely rejuvenated my love for scrapbooking. I never stopped loving it – but this made me so excited and reminded me of the importance of scrapbooking and how it can really leave a lasting memory. I love that my albums now make sense to anyone who picks them up – whether or not they understand that desire to stick bits of pretty paper to other bits of pretty paper. I think that makes them a real keepsake and I just love the added layer of creativity at the album level. It’s like they are living collections rather than a place where my pages just go to exist once I’ve created them. It’s something I’m so excited to share with other scrappers.
What’s one layout you have not created that is on your “to scrap” list?
One? There are hundreds – if not thousands – and I hope I get to keep on scrapping for many, many years. But one that has been steeping in my head recently concerns the very first time I needed a passport and the contrast between that first overseas adventure and my love of travel now.
Do you have a can’t-miss TV show? What is it?
I don’t actually have a TV! But I may or may not have an iTunes season pass to watch The Big Bang Theory. And I may or may not have a husband who answers to Dr. Sheldon Cooper. He may or may not have several white boards of equations dotted around the decor of our home. (That may or may not be a bazinga.)
If you got to choose your own scrapbooking/stamping super power, it would be…?
To always have enough Es on a sheet of letter stickers. My day is not complete without realising I can’t spell something because I have run out of the letter E!
Isn’t she adorable? Thanks to Shimelle’s class at True Scrap in April, I was able to create some amazing pages in a minimum of time. Plus she turned me on to American Crafts foam squares and American Crafts brown journaling pens. True love, True Scrap!
