    I am so sorry for your loss. At these times it is hard to forget the last few painful years when you saw your mother struggle with Alzheimer’s. BUT that was such a small part of her life. She was a wife, a mother, a grandmother, a sister, a friend ……. Most importantly for us scrappers she was the mother of a beautiful soul that reminds us everyday the importance of documenting our lives.  So as you grieve these big loss, remember the good, remember the gift that she was.     Dear Lain,

    So sorry to hear the loss of your mom. This is a very sad and sensitive moment. I never know what to say when something like this happens. I wish I had the gift of saying the right things.   My dad passed away three months ago and it was totally unexpected so we didn’t have time to say goodbye. I still think about him every day and it is still hard at times. I do want to offer you my sincere condolences and all the strenght in the world to get through this. If you have good friends and family around  you, it will help.

    The year before my dad passed away, I made him a scrapbook for a Christmas gift. A scrapbook with pictures of him when he was a child, his family than his marriage, children, his passion for golf and alpin ski, you know, his life.  He loved it. Now I have the scrapbook back and I understand how much important it is to create these scrapbooks. It is a great way to honor someone or just to document his or her life. I am scrapbooking more than ever.
