Pinterest for Scrapbookers – Free Report!

by Lain Ehmann on June 13, 2012

A few weeks ago I released a podcast focused on the hottest social media platform this side of CHA, Pinterest! (Listen to Pinterest for Scrapbookers: Ep 49.) It was so popular, and I got so many follow-up questions, that I created a 15-page report that goes step-by-step through how I use Pinterest to enhance my scrapbooking.

In this FREE guide, “Pinterest for Scrapbookers”, you’ll learn:

  • What Pinterest is.
  • Why you should care.
  • How to create a Pinterest account and begin pinning your favorite images.
  • Six ways to use Pinterest to simplify your scrapbooking life.
  • Three ways to get your pins “repinned” by others.

Want to get your copy? All you have to do is click on the black “Tweet and Get It” button below to tweet about the report and it’s yours! (Use this black button right here, NOT the little “Tweet” at the bottom of the post.)

[tweegi-button name="Pinforscrap"]
Go for it – it’s quick and easy. :)

P.S. Don’t have a Twitter account? Maybe it’s time you got one! I’m over there giving away free stuff and talking about the latest scrappy news daily. :)

  • Chief

too bad..would love this report about Pinterest but I refuse to waste my time Tweeting

  • crafter62

…I do not have a smart phone therefore not Tweeting but I do Facebook.
    Please reconsider.

  • Lilola

I feel the same way, Chief!!  I would rather spend my time scrapbooking than tweeting!!

  • Lainehmann

You can tweet on your computer. :)

  • Sonia

I dont have a twitter account and dont plan one getting one. Any other way of getting the free book.

  • Lots2sew

Not interested in getting a twitter account either, and won’t persuaded into getting one just for this. There is too much useless stuff out there taking up my time already. Don’t need another one. I guess I will have to miss this train with you. Sorry Lain

  • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1155857577 Pamela Dixon

thanks Lain, now if I just have the time to read it and join Pinterest.

  • Lainehmann

I may offer it through another method in the future. Stay tuned! :)

  • Lainehmann

No need to set aside 2 hours or anything… you can request your account now, then when you get an invite just take 15 minutes to get it up and running. Then dive in when you get a chance!

  • angela

Thanks for the report want to improve my pinterest boards and know this will help. x

  • Melt003

    thanks!

  • guest

It’s not worth it if I have to get a tweet account.  I guess it’s about time to unsubscribe from your emails.

  • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1450252588 Gina Karas Torres

It would be nice to have this report to pass on to my friends that are not on Pinterest, but I refuse to be forced into joining Twitter. I have no desire to and it shouldn’t be a requirement for your offer.

  • Tammysboutique

I would like to get the download but I am not a tweeter.

  • RitaQ

Lain… also not interested in getting a Twitter acct. I understand your reasons for doing it this way but…

… However, if part of my reasoning/concern for not tweeting is not wasting time, perhaps the same could be said for Pinterest.

  • CaroleMac

WOW Lain, this was so kind of you to take the time to create this report. I have a cpl friends not on Pinterest yet so it will be fun to share your findings with them as they will LOVE to ‘enhance their scrapping’. Again thank you so much for sharing, I will happily tweet it out for you, Smiles CaroleMac

  • Lainehmann

I’ve been keeping careful tabs in people’s comments here. I’m very open to distrubuting it in different manners, but I’m not clear as to why I shouldn’t distribute it any way I want to.

I’m not forcing you to do anything. Don’t like Twitter? Don’t sign up for it – I’m not upset. But you sound upset that I’ve chosen to distribute my material the way I see best.

  • Lainehmann

    Guess so!

  • Lainehmann

    Thanks, Carole! Enjoy!

  • Lainehmann

You are so very welcome! Let me know if you have additional questions!

  • Lainehmann

See below- may be available in a different manner in the future! Stay tuned!

  • Lainehmann

Lol! Time suck is in the eye of the beholder, eh? There’s a very good chance I may provide it via another means in the future. Stay tuned!

  • Lainehmann

    You are welcome!!

  • LainEhmann

    Stay tuned…

  • LainEhmann

Should read “…I see best.” Whoops!

  • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1098562547 Joanne Babcock Stiles

I am interested, but I am not a Tweeter.

  • Love2havemyway

Thank you for the offer, but like most people, I don’t tweet. You have every right to offer what you want the way you want to.  I very well may have to pass up this opportunity because I don’t tweet; however, that is the choice I make. I didn’t understand the comment down below (about unsubscribing to your e-mails just because he/she didn’t get something). They made the choice. I agree with your post to that comment. I would like to say thank you for all the great information that you do send!

  • Lainehmann

I didn’t really get that comment either. I’m a totally reasonable and accommodating person, and most of you already know I go above and beyond to make my readers happy!

I will most likely provide the report in a different manner in the future… But like most people I respond better to polite requests than threats. Thank you for your kind comment! Stay tuned!

  • Lainehmann

    Stay tuned!

  • HD

Oh my. Why all the negative comments? This is something Lain is giving away for FREE! She didn’t have to. She could have charged for it.
I bet this is a new method she’s testing out to see how well it works as a delivery system. And so she can get an idea of just how many people are interested in her products.
Getting mad because she asks you to follow her on Twitter as a condition for receiving free product seems counterproductive. Wouldn’t it be smarter to ask nicely for a different delivery method? (And to all the people who asked nicely–You rock!)
I know if I was running the show, I’d probably think twice before offering any more free product, knowing people would think they were OWED it.
I don’t share my crayons with mean people.

  • Lynden Blossom

    Thank You very much, Lain!  I appreciate your info!   Sorry to see all of the negative comments – People can certainly be painful…  ;-{

Enjoy the report – thank you!!

Heather, I’ll share my crayons with you any time. :)

The deleted comments were so funny we mentioned this post in our blog:
http://www.scrapbookingsuppliesrus.com/blog/article/This_week_in_scrapbooking_6-15-12.  Now that you’ve deleted them, our post won’t be as pertinent.  Could you put them back?  Just reading them made us feel above average and our kids, well behaved

  • Jenny

It is a pity that you have chosen the twitter route, as the article is just what I need, but I too refuse to have my life invaded by twitter.   Jenny Reid

I put them back – my assistant deleted them b/c I usually have a zero tolerance for negativity around here!

  • Judy Sawyer

Yes. I second that. Same for facebook. Though I like the idea of Pinterest to keep track of ideas in one place.

  • carol in seattle :)

Looks like a fun report, I hope you offer it some other way in the future. (not a twitter girl)

  • Jolyne

Thank you for offering us this free resource!

  • Lainehmann

    You are welcome! Enjoy!

I have a Twitter account, but I don’t like granting other apps permission to access my Twitter OR Facebook. Looking forward to alternate access method– Thanks! :)

  • Kim Johnson

Thanks Lain this was great.  I just made the jump last week and started my boards.  Didn’t realize I could add video links and my own photos.  That was great to know.  I am heading over to your boards right now!  You rock!!

  • Lainehmann

Thanks, Kim! I’ll see ya over there!

also would like a copy but do not Tweet!

I don’t understand the negativity. I thought it was a great way to use twitter as a marketing tool.

  • JJones

Amen!!! What’s up with all these mean scrapbookers?!? This is Lain’s gig- She can do what she wants!!! How much other free stuff does she constantly offer?? I don’t have Twitter either but I betcha if we’d just be patient, Lain would offer the download another way. Sheesh people. This is what’s wrong with America.

  • Lainehmann

    THANK YOU. :)

  • Lainehmann

Strange, eh? When all people had to do was ask…

  • http://profiles.google.com/scrapdreams Cheri Andrews

I am on Pinterest but would still love to see the report.  I deleted my Twitter account awhile ago – I just didn’t “get” the value of it (maybe that shows my age??). So I’ll wait along with the hopefuls for another offer to see the report that doesn’t involve Twitter.  Thanks for considering us non-tweeters Lain!

  • crafter62

Thank you.  Once a senior things come a little slower and social media moves so much faster.

  • Suz

whoa – the negativity is amazing! THANK YOU Lain for the 15-page document, it’s fab-you-lous! As for the negative Nellies – “nice matters”! Bashing a generous person just kind of makes you look silly!

  • Irene

Lain, I only want to say to you: THANK YOU for taking the time to write down all the tips.

And to all the negative commentators: Hello, this is the time of social media. I respect everyones choice for not being on twitter. But hey, you can say so without being rude. And you could also ask Lain for another possibility for downloading it. Be friendly and the world might smile at you.

  • Karen

Lain– I think this is cool on many levels. I think that you are providing top-notch, relevant content for your readers and it’s FREE. You are also doing something to get it out there that may not be for everyone, but are willing to take that risk. It’s YOUR biz! There will always be people out there that unsubscribe for some reason or another. It used to freak me out to see people unsubscribe, but then I realized that it’s inevitable because we can’t be all things to all people—and nor should we try.

I loved LOAD and appreciate the content-rick FREE podcasts. Rock on!

    Karen

  • LainEhmann

Amen, sistah! Enjoy the report. :)

  • LainEhmann

Thanks, Suz- I’m glad you appreciate what I do. I try, I really try! ;)

  • LainEhmann

Thank you, Karen! I guess it just goes to show that you can TRY to please everyone, but it never works. So I might just as well continue to do what I think is best for my business and the majority of my audience.

  • LainEhmann

I hear ya. Stay tuned – I’ll have something for you soon.

  • EllenM361

You just can’t please some people.  I don’t understand how someone can complain about something that you’re offering for free ~ gezzzzzz.

THANK YOU so very much for your taking YOUR own time to create this document.

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Sharon-Kosch/1182580620 Sharon Kosch

Okay, now I see a reason for Pinterest. And I joined Twitter just to read this! (Probably won’t ever use it again.)

  • Lainehmann

:) it didn’t hurt too much, did it? ;)

  • Lainehmann

Thank you for your thanks! It makes it all worthwhile. :)

  • ana frazee

wow! the non-tweeters can be mean……i had a twitter account once, but i didn’t use it, so i delete. now i have a smart phone so i’ll guess i’ll get some use out of it, starting with your paper. thanks.

  • http://profiles.google.com/traciy2 Traci Tracy

Lain, you are kind, generous, fun, and quite frankly OWN this blog and the guide. Good grief, the amount of work that you put into your business and you STILL give away free stuff and people complain. I noticed that the unsubscriber didn’t feel it necessary to leave their name. It’s easy to throw rocks when you are hiding behind “Guest”. I am always eager to learn, maybe some people really do know everything.
I am very thankful that you freely share so much of your knowledge and am eagerly anticipating reading your guide to Pintrest. True, it can be a time sucker, but only if you let it.  Thanks again for all you do. :)

  • Carol Drumwright

Thanks so much for providing this much-needed help on Pinterest.  Now maybe I can truly appreciate what everyone has been talking about!

  • LainEhmann

You are welcome! Let me know if you have other questions.

  • LainEhmann

I have a total girl crush on you now. :)

Thank Lain for this free book. I just wanted to let your readers know that if they are using thier iPad to download your book it will open in Safari first. If you put your finger on the tab you will get a choice to open it in iBooks then you can save it there.
Now as for all the UNGREATFUL people who don’t realize that FREE doesn’t come by every day or easy, get off your soapbox. No one is forcing you to do anything you don’t want to do. Lain is giving away something and in return she is asking for a tweet, simple as that. If you don’t want it, then just walk away quietly.
Have you ever gone to one of those club stores (Sam’s or Costco) and they are giving away food for FREE? All they would like for you to do is taste and buy but you don’t have to if you don’t want to. You can just walk away quietly and continue your shopping. Same principle here.. If you don’t want it, just walk away quietly.
Remember, you get what you give. And also remember to do unto others as you would do unto yourself.
Now I think you owe Lain an apiology!

I really need to know more about pinterest. I have an account but I don’t understand how to use it. But I do not have the ability to Tweet. I wish you would offer this via another method.

  • Steph

I want to leave a happy comment and not a nasty one given some of the comments I’ve seen.

First, let me just say that I think it is awesome you are giving away this book for free. Love that and love the fact that you’ve spent your time to create it.

But, I want to be one who isn’t a fan of the delivery…

I had a stalker in my late teens and early twenties. For Six years. This caused me to live in fear everywhere I went, in high school, at my job, in public places. Without getting into the messy details here, some minor things were that I had all 4 of my tired slashed, threatening notes left on my car, phone calls to every place I ever went, my home, friends, family, jobs and places no one should have known where I was. I had police surveillance at my house.

Long story short, for my personal reasons, I don’t and never will have any kind of social media type account which is meant to share any of my personal information with anyone.

When I first heard about Pinterest, I was interested but didn’t like the fact that when I was first told about it by a friend, she said I had to have a FB account. Not sure if that is still the case, but at the time I created my account last Fall, that is what I thought so to get around that, I made up a fake FB with a fake name and created another email via hotmail to be as hidden as I could be. It was frustrating to think here was yet another thing I would miss out on because of shying away from social media.

With all that said, I would love it if you would have some kind of offer for those of us who aren’t members of the world of social media. I do have the emails of a bunch of scrapbooking girlfriends whom I’d be more than happy to send an email to with a link back to your site.

Hope that is something that might be possible.

    Have a great day!

Unfortunately the link isn’t working for me, it just opens to a blank page. I’ve tried it on my iPhone, iPad and desktop computer.
