    No need to set aside 2 hours or anything… you can request your account now, then when you get an invite just take 15 minutes to get it up and running. Then dive in when you get a chance!

    It would be nice to have this report to pass on to my friends that are not on Pinterest, but I refuse to be forced into joining Twitter. I have no desire to and it shouldn’t be a requirement for your offer.

    Lain… also not interested in getting a Twitter acct. I understand your reasons for doing it this way but…

    … However, if part of my reasoning/concern for not tweeting is not wasting time, perhaps the same could be said for Pinterest.

    I’ve been keeping careful tabs in people’s comments here. I’m very open to distrubuting it in different manners, but I’m not clear as to why I shouldn’t distribute it any way I want to.

    I’m not forcing you to do anything. Don’t like Twitter? Don’t sign up for it – I’m not upset. But you sound upset that I’ve chosen to distribute my material the way I see best.

    Thank you for the offer, but like most people, I don’t tweet. You have every right to offer what you want the way you want to.  I very well may have to pass up this opportunity because I don’t tweet; however, that is the choice I make. I didn’t understand the comment down below (about unsubscribing to your e-mails just because he/she didn’t get something). They made the choice. I agree with your post to that comment. I would like to say thank you for all the great information that you do send!

    I didn’t really get that comment either. I’m a totally reasonable and accommodating person, and most of you already know I go above and beyond to make my readers happy!

    Oh my. Why all the negative comments? This is something Lain is giving away for FREE! She didn’t have to. She could have charged for it. 
    I bet this is a new method she’s testing out to see how well it works as a delivery system. And so she can get an idea of just how many people are interested in her products. 
    Getting mad because she asks you to follow her on Twitter as a condition for receiving free product seems counterproductive. Wouldn’t it be smarter to ask nicely for a different delivery method? (And to all the people who asked nicely–You rock!)
    I know if I was running the show, I’d probably think twice before offering any more free product, knowing people would think they were OWED it. 
    I don’t share my crayons with mean people.

    Amen!!! What’s up with all these mean scrapbookers?!? This is Lain’s gig- She can do what she wants!!! How much other free stuff does she constantly offer??     I am on Pinterest but would still love to see the report.  I deleted my Twitter account awhile ago – I just didn’t “get” the value of it (maybe that shows my age??). So I’ll wait along with the hopefuls for another offer to see the report that doesn’t involve Twitter.  Thanks for considering us non-tweeters Lain!

    Lain– I think this is cool on many levels. I think that you are providing top-notch, relevant content for your readers and it’s FREE. You are also doing something to get it out there that may not be for everyone, but are willing to take that risk. It’s YOUR biz! There will always be people out there that unsubscribe for some reason or another. It used to freak me out to see people unsubscribe, but then I realized that it’s inevitable because we can’t be all things to all people—and nor should we try.

    Lain, you are kind, generous, fun, and quite frankly OWN this blog and the guide. Good grief, the amount of work that you put into your business and you STILL give away free stuff and people complain. I noticed that the unsubscriber didn’t feel it necessary to leave their name. It’s easy to throw rocks when you are hiding behind “Guest”. I am always eager to learn, maybe some people really do know everything.
    I am very thankful that you freely share so much of your knowledge and am eagerly anticipating reading your guide to Pintrest. True, it can be a time sucker, but only if you let it.  Thanks again for all you do. :)

    Thank Lain for this free book. I just wanted to let your readers know that if they are using thier iPad to download your book it will open in Safari first. If you put your finger on the tab you will get a choice to open it in iBooks then you can save it there.
    Now as for all the UNGREATFUL people who don’t realize that FREE doesn’t come by every day or easy, get off your soapbox. No one is forcing you to do anything you don’t want to do. Lain is giving away something and in return she is asking for a tweet, simple as that. If you don’t want it, then just walk away quietly.
    Have you ever gone to one of those club stores (Sam’s or Costco) and they are giving away food for FREE? All they would like for you to do is taste and buy but you don’t have to if you don’t want to. You can just walk away quietly and continue your shopping. Same principle here.. If you don’t want it, just walk away quietly.
    Remember, you get what you give. And also remember to do unto others as you would do unto yourself.
    Now I think you owe Lain an apiology!

    I really need to know more about pinterest. I have an account but I don’t understand how to use it. But I do not have the ability to Tweet. I wish you would offer this via another method.

    I want to leave a happy comment and not a nasty one given some of the comments I’ve seen.

    First, let me just say that I think it is awesome you are giving away this book for free. Love that and love the fact that you’ve spent your time to create it.

    But, I want to be one who isn’t a fan of the delivery…

    I had a stalker in my late teens and early twenties. For Six years. This caused me to live in fear everywhere I went, in high school, at my job, in public places. Without getting into the messy details here, some minor things were that I had all 4 of my tired slashed, threatening notes left on my car, phone calls to every place I ever went, my home, friends, family, jobs and places no one should have known where I was. I had police surveillance at my house.

    Long story short, for my personal reasons, I don’t and never will have any kind of social media type account which is meant to share any of my personal information with anyone.

    When I first heard about Pinterest, I was interested but didn’t like the fact that when I was first told about it by a friend, she said I had to have a FB account. Not sure if that is still the case, but at the time I created my account last Fall, that is what I thought so to get around that, I made up a fake FB with a fake name and created another email via hotmail to be as hidden as I could be. It was frustrating to think here was yet another thing I would miss out on because of shying away from social media.

    With all that said, I would love it if you would have some kind of offer for those of us who aren’t members of the world of social media. I do have the emails of a bunch of scrapbooking girlfriends whom I’d be more than happy to send an email to with a link back to your site.

    Hope that is something that might be possible.
