It’s Wednesday – so that must mean it’s Podcast Day! Hurray, hurray!

In today’s episode, I spill on topics such as:

  • What to do if you’re a class junkie
  • How to get yourself to move out of learning mode and into creating mode
  • What I really ate for dinner all those years ago in grad school
  • How knitting ties into scrapbooking
  • And much, much more!

Links I mention:

The Big Shot

Enjoy!

P.S. If you’re liking what you hear, why not head over to iTunes and leave me a review? It’s good karma!

I loved last week’s podcast, but didn’t get in on the discussion, so I’m so glad this week was a bit of a continuation. I love to learn and would be a perpetual student, too, if I could. Your suggestions are so practical and reasonable. I’ve been listening to these new podcasts and even taking a few notes to help me remember the content better. I’m all signed up for the Mother LOAD and cannot believe it actually starts tomorrow!! Thanks for all you do.

You are so sweet, Sue! See you tomorrow!!! :)

I can totally empathize with anyone who gets on a “learning” kick and then feels overwhelmed and uses this feeling as an excuse to NOT be productive.  I think I am in it right now!!  I have spent 2 1/2 days of my scrapbooking vacation on the computer “learning” about iPODs and iTunes! I am signed up for your Motherload class; I am looking forward to some “accountability”!  Can you tell us more about Scrap Happy?  I thought it was an alumni class for your LOAD program.

P.S.  I really like your Pod Casts!  I look forward to them each week!  Thanks for doing them!

My first chance to listen to a couple of your podcasts. Love your presentation and content. Keep em coming!

I am also like a kid waiting for school to start LOL….can’t wait for tomorrow…..I have done all my laundry and chores today to be ready for the fun!!  I too enjoy your podcasts as they are inspiring!  I hope to be accountable too for my layouts from your class…thanks for sharing your talents and advice!

We’ll start slow, but get ready for a great and wild ride! :)

Get scrapping, chica! :) For more info about ScrapHappy, please visit ScrapHappy.org. I’ll be talking about it in next week’s podcast. Thanks much!

    Thank you, Marina! :)

Thanks so much Lain.  I feel honored to have a whole podcast dedicated to me :) !  And I think you really hit the nail on the head, though I never would have realized it on my own-I am using classes & techniques to keep from actually scrapbooking despite how badly I want to scrap…probably for several reasons but one big reason would be overload: too many supplies, too many choices, and most of all: too many photos that are not well organized and not knowing where to start.  Since I’ve already revealed my class junkie nature, I’ll go ahead and admit it: I’m currently enrolled in Stacy Julian’s Finding Photo Freedom class to combat this very problem…I believe today started week 5 and I haven’t completed week 1 yet :(   But you’ve given me renewed motivation; and recognizing the problem is the first step to correcting it, right?  See, I did need therapy and you are a terrific therapist! :)   One more confession: I was already signed up for The Mother LOAD- I know you’re surprised, right??  Thanks again- it seriously was a big help.  And by the way, somewhere you asked about suggestions for tools for your how-to videos: I’ve got tons of things I found on various “deals” for great prices, so I just “had” to grab them up, and have never used any of them!  I’ll have to dig them out and send you what they are so you can maybe educate me some more!  (Was this maybe the wrong time/place to mention this? LOL)

Lain, this is my first time to listen to you and you are such a joy! I want to take your new class but I heard it started today, is it too late to sign up? Also, this will be my first time to take a class and I’m a little nervous: )

  • Anonymous

Hey Amanda! Glad you found me. Nope, not too late!!! It’s a great first timers class because there’s a lot of support and it starts gradually. I hope to see you there!!!

So excited for MotherLOAD!!! I realized listening to this weeks podcast that I may be a classohlic. Is there a 12 step program for that? It seems to me that the classes I want to take all happen at the same time. I, too, am taking Summer Card Camp (I’m lucky enough to live in Ohio and be spoiled by live Jennifer McGuire classes!) and am hoping that the overlap isn’t going to kill me! At least I will die happy and surrounded by paper.  :) Keep the great podcasts coming!

    Hey Sheri!
So glad you are in Summer Card Camp too. I’m loving it! I don’t think you’ll find it’s too much — it’s really at your own pace for both! (At least for the first 9 weeks of MotherLOAD!)

I am so glad you are in the MotherLOAD — we’ll get you scrapping! :) And Photo Freedom — take your time. There’s a lot of info there to absorb. I find myself stalling out when I hit something that makes an impact on me. I have to let it sink in before i can go forward !:)

Just had to drop you an update: I’m so proud of myself!! I uploaded my scrap room photos either Sunday or yesterday, can’t remember which, AND I’ve just finished up my week one layout- just need to take a photo and get it uploaded!  Can’t believe I’m keeping up so far (start with small goals-right?!)

  • Anonymous

    Yay, you!
Small goals are the ONLY way to get anything done for me. ;)

  • Marie-Michele Livernoche

Love that podcast!! I’ve got to admit it… I’m a class junkie!! I find it easier than scrapbook sometimes. No mistakes, no deception about my layouts, that sort of things. Since I’m listening your podcasts while I’m doing the LOAD marathon, there is some hope for me!! Thanks a lot! You’ve changed my scrapbooking life!!!

    Thank you, Marie Michele! :)
