  • Lynnette

Hey…thanks for the shout out.  All 5 points you made about sharing are true, true, true, true and TRUE!  When I think about where I was in Oct 2010 for my 1st LOAD and where I am now, both scrappy and non- scrappy related, I can say, ” I’ve come a long way, baby!”  Thanks for motivating and cheering me on :)

  • LainEhmann

    You know i love you!!!!!

  • KraftyKwai

This is quite interesting, but do you have a resource that would help with getting great photographs of layouts.  I believe I remember you doing a post or another blog did, but I’m can’t for the life of me remember where.  I always feel good about where my crafting is going when I listen to your podcast.  I get a lot of motivation from it.

  • Janet Trapp

Thanks so much for the encouragement to show one’s work.   I have been kicking around an idea of video taping (which I have never done, and I am currently looking for my tripod that I have not used in years) my ideas on making your own washi tape.  I just can’t get over how to do the whole process, wish I had a buddy who could walk me through it…God bless!

  • Valerie Smith

Great Podcast.  I loved Lynette’s layout with the found pictures.  So glad you mentioned it.   You are so right about uploading for the back up.  Thanks for the constant inspiration.

    Thanks for listening, Valerie! :)

    Hey Janet-
Find someone whose videos you love, and email them for tips! That’s what I do. ;)

Why yes I do… here you go:
Nichol’s “Taking Fantastic Project Photos” scrapinar
Nichol did a fantastic one-hour class on this very topic!

I look at a few different blogs and listen to a couple of different podcasts–always looking for inspiration, ideas, color schemes, embellishments, etc.  I have never posted anything just for me or for a class but have been thinking about it. Then I heard you say on one of the pod casts that “some of the pages you see on Pinterest are a hot mess”.  I was so taken aback by that comment. What if my pages are a “hot mess”?  I withdrew from wanting to share. I  am so glad you still encourage sharing.  I think that is what I admire the most  when I look at other blogs, their willingness to share their lives to others.

  • LainEhmann

HI Carol- I’m sorry my comments made you feel like not sharing. I personally do not care for the pages that are all about how much product you can put on the page and the story and photos get lost. Of course, that is MY opinion. I am sure that some people think MY pages are a hot mess, or that they are too plain. I don’t really care much what other people think. I’m glad that what I do resonates with others, but I scrapbook first and foremost for me and my family.

  • Carol in the Land of Oz

I agree, it is not about the product, to me scrapbooking is about the photos, the story and the memories.  I love to see other peoples’ scrap style.  I don’t think I care what other people think, but I sure do keep my scrapbooks to myself.  Maybe I just put too much into them and I worry about exposing too much of my inner me.  Lot to think about–keep up the good work, I love the encouraging words and wonderful ideas.
