What a way to start a Wednesday — a special ScrapHappy scrapbooking podcast with a guest star — Debbie Hodge! Debbie has created a fantastic resource for all scrapbookers at GetItScrapped.com. With a focus on giving scrapbookers concrete guidance to get their pages complete, GetItScrapped offers classes, tutorials, a message board, and more! Here’s the link to the audio (if you’re already subscribed in iTunes, it should be delivered to you automatically):
Get ScrapHappy: Debbie Hodge – Building Pages (right-click to download!)
Debbie and I talked about her amazing class, Building Pages. If you’ve ever wondered why some pages “work” and some fall flat, Debbie will walk you through design basics and provide you the tools and information you need to create compelling scrapbook layouts. Here’s what you’ll get:
- 12 lessons delivered in one download so you can work at your own pace
- Over 140 pages of text in a PDF document for you to review, print out, and study
- 12 videos to accompany each lesson
- 23 page sketches and digital templates (You do NOT have to be a digital scrapbooker to take this class!)
One note: Debbie says that the page “foundations” are based upon 12×12″ pages. While she does believe you can translate the principles to other page sizes, just be aware that the info is working with the 12×12″ size.
I will be working through the Building Pages material over the next few weeks so I can learn more about design basics — I’ll talk to you about my progress here (but I won’t give away any secrets, so make sure to sign up so you can see what I’m talking about! LOL!).
In the call, Debbie mentioned two other great classes coming in December:
Capture Your Holidays (a photography class with my gal Katrina Kennedy)
Souvenirs of the Season (about holiday memoribilia with Sharyn Tormanen)
Both of these would be great additions to a December Daily project!
‘Scuse me now. I’m off to sign up for a few classes.
P.S. Speaking of signing up, Debbie has offered a $5 off discount for ScrapHappy readers. Use code “buildhappy” at check-out!
