Silhouette Stamping Starter Kit – Special!

by Lain Ehmann on September 4, 2013

One of the coolest products to come out of CHA was definitely the Silhouette Stamping Starter Kit!

The ability to actually create your own polymer stamps from images on in the Silhouette online store or from images you import into your own library is nothing short of revolutionary — and I LOVE “revolutionary!” Now you can create the perfect stamp to accompany your scrapbook layouts, or your paper crafting projects. Yahoo!

So today I’ve got a couple of things for you. First, the Silhouette promotion: From now through Sept. 13 you can save 20% on a stamping starter kit, just by clicking here and using code LAIN at checkout! So if you’ve been wondering if you NEED a Silhouette Cameo or a Portrait, the answer just might be YES. :)

The Stamping Starter Kit includes a special mat, the polymer material (three sheets), a download card, a DVD, and a quick start guide. Oh, you also get a stamp pad and a few acrylic blocks to get you started, all for $23.99! Oh, and there are also packages come with a Portrait or a Cameo. Yay!

Next, here’s a little project I did with the stamping kit that Silhouette sent me:

How to Create Your Own Stamps with Your Silhouette

A few hints when using your Silhouette Stamping Kit:

-Not every shape makes a good stamp. As you can see from my stamp, a lot of the details did not come out when I cut it. Here’s the original image:

-You have to change the cutting mat size, which was not mentioned in the quick start guide. You can do this under the Page Tools Window menu.

-You also have to move the white rollers for your Silhouette, which is also not mentioned in the quick start guide. They are stick little buggers, so get ready to PULL.

-Your image may not seem like it cut all the way through, but if you are very careful, you can separate it. Go slow!

Other than that, you should be good to go!

Check it out and let me know what you think!

P.S. Silhouette America provided me with a Stamping Starter Kit to review. If you purchase a combo pack through my links, I may receive an affiliate commission.

Sorry to say none of the links work. I was going to purchase the Cameo with the Stamping Kit, but I will have to look on another site to get to the links.

  • KathyMac

Links didn’t work for me either. I’ve been looking for an excuse to get a Silhouette and this seemed like it might work….. Hope you’re able to get the link working so I can get your discount before the 13th.

  • Kathy Meredith

On the Silhouette site it says “coming soon” for the stamping starter kit, so maybe they are temporarily out or something. I hope they can get it in to be able to use the discount.

  • Kelli Panique

This is Kelli, Lain’s assistant. We had a glitch with the link. It is working now. Please try it again. Thank you

This is Kelli, Lain’s assistant. We had a glitch with the link. It is working now. So now you still have a good excuse! Please try it again. Thank you!

Sorry, JKL, we had a glitch with link, but it’s fixed now. I apologize for the inconvenience.

Okay, you just made up my mind for me. I’ve been debating ditching my cricut for a silhouette for awhile now. Make my own stamps? Yes please! I’ll be asking my family for one for Christmas.

  • LainEhmann

Were you able to get the links to work? So sorry about that!

  • LainEhmann

That is a bummer. So sorry. Hope you were able to get it to work after Kelli responded to you. Thank you for letting us know!

  • Sonja Gortzak-Hughes

I am so excited about this! Have one waiting for me in Virginia when I go over end of October,
