Stamping seems easy — you dab some color on a shape and smack it down on a sheet of paper.
But there’s so much more to it than that! There’s the TYPE of ink, the TYPE of stamp, the TYPE of image, the TYPE of paper… and then you can do more to the image you stamp. You can add color with pens, pencils, or paint. You can cut it out and pop it up, or layer it, or mount it. You can add dimension and texture, you can vary the sizes, you can PLAY.
And that might confuse things a bit. Unless..
Unless you have the rad ladies of True Stamp 2014 to help you out!
In March, I hosted six incredible sponsors — Raisin Boat, Simon Says Stamp, Paper Smooches, Mama Elephant, Lawn Fawn, and Technique Tuesday — as they presented six remarkable, colorful, and inspiring classes:
What’s Cookin’? Creative ingredients to whet your appetite for WOW! – Raisin Boat
SWAK! Stamp Kissing Made Simple – Paper Smooches
Moving and Shaking: Adding Interactive Elements with Stamps – Lawn Fawn
A Little Bit Rock ‘n’ Roll: Adding Visual Interest to Solid Stamp Images – Mama Elephant
Stamps and Dies that Work Together II – Simon Says Stamp
Stamping Kaleidoscope: Color and Texture for Every Day and Everywhere – Technique Tuesday
Lest you fear that only “the experts” can develop the kind of gorgeous creations presented by our instructors, not so! Here are two examples of the eye-catching shaker card that Kelly Marie Alvarez of Lawn Fawn taught. First is the oh-so-cute engagement version from Connie Hanks of Clicky Chick Creates:
And here is another take on the shaker card from Andrene Smith of What She Crafts:
I love how they each interpreted the original projects in a different way. Wow! Talented teachers, talented students.
